The book is iNSIDE LAWRENCE: A Guide to Places that Matter by Maxwell Minor (whom I don't know, is this a pen name?). It has an accompanying website that does little to represent the wit, humor, and accuracy of the book, but it does provide a way to buy the book.

The Sand Bar is what would happen if Jimmy Buffet puked all over Sammy Hagar who in turn ate that puke, causing him to puke on a Rainforest Cafe...but smaller.
About the Mad Greek:
Garlic-heavy dishes put the reek in Greek, but the lingering stink is more than worth it.
About Bucky's:
As old school as fast food gets...everything is still served in styrofoam, so each dollar you spend sends a clear, simultaneous "fuck you" to both your body and planet Earth. Make sure to plan your stops in conjunction with Bucky's world-famous Pepsi happy hour, featuring half priced Pepsi products, three to four p.m., Monday through Friday, becasue only suckas drink retail-priced Mountain Dew.
If you have friend who is new to Lawrence, have a child that will soon be moving here to go to college, or if you've lived here for a long time and just enjoy reading good descriptions of local joints, I recommend this book. Heck, I wish I had written this book.
